Announcing a New MBAI Resource
Help Us Answer an Ongoing Question about Appreciation
To date, more than 425,000 people have taken the Motivating By Appreciation Inventory (MBAI) to discover their language of appreciation! Our goal in creating the MBAI has always been to provide relevant, practical and easily applied resources to help team members communicate appreciation effectively to one another.
But over time, some relevant questions have come up.
What if my supervisor changes? Or team roles and responsibilities have changed? Or if I work for a different organization? How stable are our desired ways of being shown appreciation over life stages and other changes in circumstances?
Now you have the opportunity to find out and participate in a research project!
People who are interested in this opportunity may fit into one of the following groups:
- Those who took the MBA Inventory previously and are curious if their appreciation language has changed
- Teams and work groups whose membership has changed and who would like an updated Group Summary Report
- Individuals whose work context has changed since they first took the inventory.
In order to explore the different factors that may have influenced whether or not employees’ appreciation languages have changed, we are asking participants to fill out a brief questionnaire about any differences about any differences in their work and life circumstances. When you completing the survey (and we are able to verify that you have previously taken the MBAI), we will send you – and any of your colleagues – a discount code of $10 for any version of the inventory you wish to take.
To get started, click here and fill out the survey (which takes less than 5 minutes). Please note that we are setting a time limit on participation and the survey needs to be completed by Monday, January 20th. Once we are notified that you have completed the survey and we verify the results of your first MBAI, we’ll send you the $10 discount code to purchase a new MBAI. We will then compare your initial results with the most recent ones along with the information you give us in the questionnaire and then publish what we learn.
Please help us answer the question – do people’s appreciation languages change over time? (and if they, what factors play a part?)
Thanks for your assistance!
